Volunteering With RAM

Without our volunteers, RAM would be unable to provide the services our patients need. The volunteers hardest to find are the professionals, such as dentists, ophthalmologists, optometrists, and other physicians whose services the patients have come to receive. Additionally, we have roles for dental hygienists, nurses, opticians, and other licensed professionals. Veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and assistants are also encouraged to volunteer. If you have a skill that you believe might be useful to RAM's patients, please VOLUNTEER TODAY!

You can learn about each of our programs by clicking the links under RAM Programs in the left-hand column of this page.

If you have questions, please see answers to our Frequently Asked Questions to learn more.

A LL VOLUNTEER REGISTRATIONS ARE NOW ONLINE!

To volunteer, go to our new RAM Volunteer Website, or from here, click Become a RAM Volunteer to enroll in our online system. If you already have an account, simply Login anytime, then register for Upcoming Clinics for which we are currently accepting registrations. If a clinic listed on our schedule is not posted on the RAM Volunteer Website, we are not currently accepting volunteers - please check back regularly for updates!

If you have questions, please see answers to our Frequently Asked Questions to learn more.

STUDENTS
Advanced, senior level dental and vision students, as well as nursing students who are appropriately trained, may be involved in certain levels of patient care. To volunteer as a student, you must have school sponsorship and supervision in the form of a licensed practitioner. If you have questions, please see answers to our Frequently Asked Questions to learn more.

ANOTHER WAY TO VOLUNTEER

Another way to volunteer is to assist the local host organization sponsoring the expedition during pre-clinic planning and/or post-clinic operations. As hosts for the clinic, they are responsible for coordinating local logistics for the clinic and can tell you what they need. If you live in/near the county where a RAM clinic is scheduled, are available for several hours a week during the months leading up to the clinic, and would like to volunteer on a planning committee, you may contact RAM headquarters for information on local host groups.

INTERNATIONAL EXPEDITIONS

On overseas expeditions, our teams are selected based on the purpose of the trip. For example, on women's health trips to Guyana, our team may be comprised of primarily women's health specialists, such as OB/Gynecologists and surgeons, a pathologist when available, nurses, and several other support personnel.

If you have an interest in these types of expeditions, you should dialogue with RAM directly.

RAM always welcomes people interested in volunteering to come and be a part of an expedition.
To volunteer, please view our schedule, complete the registration form for the expedition you would like to attend, and send it to RAM using the contact information on the form.
