Katrina & Rita Response
<Previous

Sept 13, 2005

It's been a good day overall. We sent 7 people to FEMA headquarters, where they did physicals on FEMA people. The group at Slidell checked in, sounding positive. We've had no reports from our people in Thebodaux. This is a good sign, as they were told to report any problems to me.

Four doctors went out with the ambulances again from the Covington OEP to do door-to-door medical checks again.

Some have been disappointed that we're not seeing a high volume of patients now, but the reality is that a decrease in volume of patients means that the community is recovering. The need for an all-volunteer medical group in this area of southern Louisiana is becoming less and less.
