Airdrop of personnel and equipment at the top of Lamb's Mountain Expedition 2005

Expedition Specifics

Location:
Lamb's Mountain, TN
Purpose:

Deliver personnel and equipment for RAM clinic

Services:
Airdrop
Summary:

After 21 years, the RAM dream of parachuting into a site and holding a clinic happened for the first time. Sixteen skydivers, from all over the US, joined together to make a difference, and took a leap of faith, into an area never before accessed from the sky - from a plane flown in the Battle of Normandy. Once at the site, three other skydivers delivered the volunteers' gear, with cargo drops to the site. There, the Tennessee National Guard provided tents for the clinic and water for the volunteers. Over the next day and a half, 230 patients from the surrounding rural communities were provided dental and vision care, by less than a dozen doctors and over a dozen assistants. This was the first mission of its kind for RAM, and perhaps within the community of US volunteers.

Eventually, more missions of this type are planned to take place, stateside and abroad. With thanks to all involved, in making this dream a reality, you have helped make a difference! May this be the one mission of many more to come.
