You may have seen our blog post Looking Back at 2025 about some of our accomplishments throughout 2025. Remote Area Medical (RAM®) celebrated our 40th year, our millionth patient, and so much more. Here is our impact in 2025.
With all our 2025 clinics and telehealth clinics behind us, let’s look at the impact RAM made across the country in 2025. Each of these numbers represents a different way RAM and our volunteers made a change in our patients’ lives.

- 32,770 patients served
- $16,603,457 worth of free care provided
- 17,043 volunteers worked with RAM in 2025
- 4,228 telehealth encounters

Patient Received (for free):
- 15,013 pairs of glasses
- 7,999 eye exams
- 11,557 teeth extracted
- 4,333 dental fillings
- 3,609 dental cleanings
- 5,523 medical exams
- 1,315 women’s health exams
Our Impact
Since 1985, RAM has served more than one million patients! In 2025 alone, we served nearly 33,000 people who were able to get the care they needed. That’s nearly 33,000 lives changed through receiving free dental, vision, and medical care.
Patients like Grace, Kelly, and Lillian’s family all did not have health, dental, or vision insurance and were not sure how they would have gotten the care they needed if not for the RAM Clinic near them. Nearly half of RAM’s patients are uninsured.
In 2025, 12.8% of our patients were children. Their parents and guardians brought them to the clinic to ensure they got the dental, vision, and medical care they needed. Last year alone, RAM made more than 1,600 pairs of glasses for children. This will help children, like Celeste, to be able to see the board better during school.

Each of these medical exams, dental exams, and new pairs of glasses will prevent patients’ medical issues from getting worse over time. A dental cleaning or filling can allow the dentist to discover a patient’s cavity before they need to get a root canal or an extraction. Not only preventing a painful procedure but also preventing a costly procedure.
As we go on to serve our next million patients, our patients know they can count on RAM to provide free, quality dental, vision, and medical care. Many of our patients return year after year to our clinics, because they know they’ll be receiving quality healthcare.

RAM donor and volunteer Leigh said it best, “Our two biggest things are our time and our money. And if you have the ability to choose how you want to spend those, then I think this is a lovely way to do either.”
In 2025, more than 17,000 people volunteered with RAM. They used their time, skills, and knowledge to support our patients. By volunteering or donating to RAM, you are choosing to spend your time and/or money to bring free healthcare to those who would otherwise go without.
Each and every volunteer makes a lasting impact on our patients. Patients often tell us they feel less afraid of medical professionals at a RAM Clinic than anywhere else they receive care. Why? The kindness of our volunteers, and our healthcare providers willingness to listen to what’s bothering them.
