As the holiday season approaches, it is often a time of reflecting on the past year and showing gratitude, and at Remote Area Medical (RAM) Headquarters, we are thankful for your continued support. It is because of you that we’re able to provide free, quality healthcare to those in need.
There are many ways to have a positive impact on our success. Donating, volunteering, and spreading the word about RAM’s Mission are all great ways to be involved — even by reading this blog post, you are supporting RAM!
Here are a few ways to be involved with RAM and help us further our mission:
Volunteers are the heart of RAM
In 2024 alone, more than 14,000 people have volunteered with RAM. Volunteers work toward one common goal — bringing free dental, vision, and medical services to communities across the United States.
From medical doctors, dentists, nurses, opticians, ophthalmologists, dental hygienists, and other healthcare professionals to general support volunteers, those 14,000 volunteers each worked to make a difference in patients’ lives.
Volunteers play a huge role in making sure that patients receive the care they deserve by setting up clinics, registering patients, ensuring a smooth operation, and much more. Watch the video above to see Dr. Tim Powers’ experience volunteering with RAM earlier this year.
Are you already a RAM Volunteer and you want to become more involved with the organization? Becoming a CORE Volunteer is a great way to support RAM through taking on a volunteer leadership role.
Financial donation of any size allows us to continue providing free care and essential medical supplies
We are able to continue providing these necessary medical services thanks to ongoing support from our donors.
- A donation of $100 will provide someone with a comprehensive eye exam and a new pair of glasses.
- A donation of $200 allows us to treat an individual on board one of our telehealth units.
- A donation of $300 will give someone relief from a toothache by allowing a volunteer dentist to repair or extract the tooth.
The generosity of our donors has allowed RAM to help countless individuals and families to receive the care they need.
A few ways to support include:
- Automated Monthly Giving (The Ultimate Subscription)
- For just $10 a month (less than the cost of a streaming service) you can “subscribe” to life-changing care for those who desperately need it.
- Donate Stocks
- Maximize your impact by donating appreciated stocks.
- Give By Check
- Mail a check to support RAM’s Mission.
- Legacy Gifts
- Set up a legacy gift to support RAM long-term.
- Donor-Advised Funds (DAFS)
- Recommend grants to RAM through your DAF.
- Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs)
- Donate from your IRA to save on taxes.

- And much more!

Spreading the word about RAM has never been easier
Following RAM on social media, engaging with our posts, and sharing our content with friends and family are easy ways to spread the word about RAM and let others know about our mission. Why is it important to share the word about RAM? It encourages others to get involved, whether that is potential donors, volunteers, or patients in need of RAM’s services.
RAM’s social media is a great way to see all the work that we are doing at clinics across the country, learn about upcoming clinics, see our latest videos, and much more.
RAM Magazine

RAM releases a magazine bi-annually, with never-before-seen stories from volunteers and patients, photos from clinics, infographics, and exclusive magazine content.
Download the digital magazine or sign up to receive one in the mail. To see current and past issues of RAM’s magazine, visit www.ramusa.org/magazine/
No matter how you choose to be involved, every contribution makes a difference! Donating, volunteering, following RAM on social media, and reading our magazine are all great ways to become involved with RAM and positively impact our success.
We are so grateful for your continued support of Remote Area Medical!
