We served more than one million patients! And we’re celebrating patient 1,000,000 during our 40th year! Can you believe it?
There have been so many milestones for the RAM Team this year. It’s our 40th anniversary, we held our 1,600th clinic, and we served our millionth patient. We have so much to celebrate!
None of this would be possible without you. Whether you’ve been a donor, volunteer, or Community Host Group (CHG) — a supporter since 1985, or you learned about RAM yesterday — your support means the world to us and the more than one million patients we have served.
Each of our patients comes to RAM for a different reason and with a different story, each one is unique.
Patient 1,000,000
Our millionth patient was Regina. She came to the RAM Clinic for an eye exam and a new pair of glasses. Regina had not had new glasses in more than four years. She had been wearing a pair of someone else’s glasses, just to try and get by.
After her exam, when she finally got her new glasses and was able to see clearly for the first time in years she said, “When you go for years without being able to see,” she said, “everything is so beautiful and bright.”

How RAM Clinics Have Impacted More than One Million Lives
RAM Clinics make a difference in the lives of each of our patients. Whether the patient is there for dental, vision, or medical care, they receive free, quality care.
You already know we’ve served 1,000,000 patients, but here’s a closer look at the care those patients received.
Patients received more than:
- 336,000 dental extractions
- 140,000 dental fillings
- 190,000 pairs of glasses
- 278,000 medical exams
- 23,500 women’s health services
- 20,000 telehealth encounters
- $225,000,000 in value of care
RAM has been to more than 40 U.S. states, more than 30 countries. We’ve held more than 1,600 expeditions. RAM is committed to reaching patients where they are.
Volunteers Who Helped Us Serve More than One Million Patients
Each and every service mentioned above was performed by one of RAM’s incredible volunteers.
We could not have served more than a million patients without our wonderful volunteers. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of these more than 230,000 volunteers, we have been able to serve patients since 1985.
These volunteers work long hours, starting as early as 4:30 a.m. to make sure that our patients receive the best care possible. From setup to take down, volunteers are there every step of the way.
One thing we hear from patients at every clinic is how much they appreciate the volunteers, and how kind the volunteers were to them.
Millions More Patients to Come
One million patients is a huge milestone, but there is still so much work to be done. We will be here to serve millions more patients because as long as there is a need for free dental, vision, and medical care in the world, RAM will be here to serve those patients.
