We are stronger together
RAM’s Department of External Affairs (DEA), founded in 2019, is a direct result of the extensive external affairs work of founder Stan Brock and his realization that we are stronger together when helping those in need. Brock, who passed away in 2018, made numerous visits to Washington, D.C. and communicated with countless government officials, including Presidents and Members of Congress, industry and world leaders.
Among his countless accomplishments, Stan influenced the passage of the Volunteer Health Care Services Act in Tennessee, which sparked similar legislative action in other states. Today, the DEA continues Stan’s dedication to growing RAM’s partnerships with uniformed and government agencies, and organizations around the world.
Dedicated to those in need
The Chief External Affairs Officer (CXO) coordinates RAM’s unique partnership with the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, working with officials such as the Assistant Secretary for Health Admiral Brett Giroir and the Surgeon General Vice Admiral Jerome Adams. The CXO also advocates for multiple legislative and policy matters such as the HEALTHIER Act (HR2216), and during the COVID-19 pandemic, the CXO convinced Senators to include important liability protections for volunteers in the CARES Act.
The External Affairs Coordinator’s day to day involves executing many crucial research projects regarding state and federal health regulations and legislation, producing important outreach documents, coordinating the monthly speakers series, researching potential partnerships and coalition opportunities, etc.
