Remote Area Medical (RAM®) is committed to respecting the privacy of its donors, patients, volunteers, and website visitors. RAM has developed this Privacy & Security Policy to explain how personal information may be collected, used, protected, and updated.
RAM collects and maintains the following types of personal information when voluntarily provided:
· Contact Information: name, organization, complete mailing and/or physical address, phone number, and email address.
· Mobile Information: mobile phone numbers and records of SMS consent and communication preferences for individuals who opt in to receive text messages from RAM.
· Requests to Receive Periodic Updates: to individuals who request it, RAM may send periodic mailings and/or emails related to fundraising events or appeals, newsletters, clinic updates, volunteer information, or other RAM communications.
RAM assures its donors that the identity of all donors will be kept confidential. RAM uses donor personal information to complete financial transactions, communicate with donors, and update donors on newsworthy events. RAM protects personal information it collects by storing it with cloud-based systems that are PCI and TLS compliant and by restricting access to those systems.
RAM does not sell, rent, lease, or share donor personal information, including mobile phone numbers or SMS consent data, with third parties for marketing purposes.
For donations made using credit cards, all payment processing is handled exclusively by Stripe or PayPal. Remote Area Medical does not store, retain, or have direct access to donors’ credit card numbers. Credit card information is transmitted securely and processed directly by Stripe or PayPal in accordance with their respective privacy and security policies. Clinic Alerts SMS Privacy
Individuals may voluntarily provide a mobile phone number to receive text updates about a specific RAM clinic. RAM uses this information only to send clinic-related alerts for the clinic selected by the individual.
RAM Clinic Alerts may include clinic capacity updates, open availability updates, schedule changes, parking or arrival updates, weather-related changes, cancellation notices, and other important clinic status information.
SMS consent is optional and is not required to view clinic information, use the RAM website, or receive services. Individuals may choose not to sign up for text alerts and may still access clinic information and receive services.
Mobile numbers are collected only when voluntarily provided by the individual. SMS consent is obtained through website forms where individuals explicitly agree to receive clinic alert text messages from RAM.
Message frequency varies by clinic. Message and data rates may apply. Individuals may opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP to any message. For assistance, individuals may reply HELP or contact RAM at [email protected] or (865) 579-1530.
RAM does not sell, rent, lease, or share mobile phone numbers or SMS consent data with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Opting Out
RAM does not intend to send unwanted communications. Any donor wishing to be removed from the RAM mailing or contact list may contact RAM. Any individual receiving RAM Clinic Alerts may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP.
